2014 SF Bay Area 3^rd Community Thingyan

အစီအစဥ္ ႏွင့္ ရည္ရြယ္ခ်က္မ်ား (Programs and Objectives)

     ၁။       ဤသႀကၤန္ပြဲမွ ရရွိသမွ် အျမတ္ေငြမ်ား အားလံုးကို Community သို႔ ေၾကညာ၍ SF Bay Area ၌ လူမ်ဳိးမေရြး၊ ဘာသာမေရြး၊ အဖြဲ႕အစည္း မေရြး အသံုးျပဳႏိုင္မည့္ ပထမဆံုး ျမန္မာ Community & Cultual Center တစ္ခု တည္ေဆာက္ႏိုင္ေရး ရန္ပံုေငြသို႔ လႉဒါန္းသြားပါမည္။

        All the fund raised at the event will be disclosed to the community and donated to found the very first Myanmar Community and Cultural Center in SF Bay Area for all people of Myanmar regardless of their ethnicities, religions and associations.

      ၂။         ပြဲ Sponsor မ်ား ႏွင့္ အစားအေသာက္ အလႉရွင္မ်ား Tax Deduction ရႏိုင္ရန္ အတြက္ Burmese Youth Association (BYA) မွ Tax Return Receipt မ်ားကို အလႉရွင္မ်ားသို႔ ျပန္လည္ ထုတ္ေပးသြားပါမည္။

        Burmese Youth Association (BYA), a 501(c)3 organization, will issue tax return receipts for sponsors and food donors.

      ၃။         အစားအေသာက္ ေရာင္းခ်သူမ်ားအား အရင္းေရာ အျမတ္ပါ လႉဒါန္းရန္ ႏွင့္ Non-profit ရန္ပံုေငြ ပြဲ permit ယူထား၍ ေငြေၾကး အစား ကူပြန္လက္မွတ္ မ်ားျဖင့္သာ ေရာင္းခ်ေပးရန္ အထူး ေမတၱာရပ္ခံ တိုက္တြန္း အပ္ပါသည္။ လာေရာက္ ေရာင္းခ်လႉဒါန္း သူမ်ား၏ ေစတနာကို တံု႔ျပန္ေသာအားျဖင့္ ပြဲအျပီး ေက်းဇူးတင္ပြဲအခမ္းအနား၌ အမွတ္တရ လက္ေဆာင္မ်ား ခ်ီးျမႇင့္ ေပးသြားပါမည္။

        Food vendors are highly encouraged to donate food as well as profits for the event and to sell only with the food coupons instead of accepting cash because we only have the non-profit fundraiser permit. Lucky-draw prices will be given to all the food vendors at the appreciation lunch after the event.

        This year event will have special programs such as Thingyan Yein Dance, “Miss Thingyan 2014 Pageant” Contest, Paying respect to elders, Games center, water playing pavilion and performances from Bay Area artists like Zayanda, Su Wai and other live band performances.

      ၆။         သႀကၤန္ပြဲေတာ္ အထူးအစီအစဥ္ အေနျဖင့္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသို႔ အသြားအျပန္ China Airlines ေလယာဥ္လက္မွတ္ (၁) ေစာင္ ႏွင့္အတူ အျခားဆုေပါင္းမ်ားစြာ ပါဝင္ေသာ raffle ကံစမ္းမဲ လက္မွတ္မ်ားကို ေစ်းႏႈန္းခ်ဳိသာစြာျဖင့္ ဝယ္ယူ ကံစမ္းႏိုင္ပါၿပီ။

Burmese (Myanmar) Community & Cultural Center (BMCCC)

Mission Statement

        We people, from the country of Burma / Myanmar - which include Kachin, Karen, Karenni, Chin, Mon, Burman, Arakanese, Shan, and others - seek to have a culture and service resource center, where we can share our commonalties, teach our heritage to our children, preserve our culture, showcase our festivals and, importantly, teach, learn and share how to face the challenges and language hurdles in order to participate and integrate into the American fabric.

Objectives

·         To stand as an empowerment center for all Burmese people and community by serving community needs and running programs

·         To promote community unity and collaboration

·         To improve access to and success in high quality education for the youths and new immigrants

·         To serve as an information hub

·         To preserve and promote diverse Burmese ethnic cultures and arts

Programs to be offered

·         Tutoring classes for refugees and low income family kids

·         Burmese language and cultural classes

·         Traditional dance, music and instrumental classes

·         Mobile Consulate for Myanmar visa, Education and career counseling

·         Vocational education and training Citizenship exam preparation

·         Speaker series of inspirational people related to Burma Hosting community events

A Brief History

            Burmese Youth Association (BYA) initiated the first fundraiser for the Burmese (Myanmar) Community and Cultural Center of Northern California together with the San Francisco Bay Area Burmese Community at the Capuchino High School, San Bruno on August 9, 2009. Then, BYA formed the Burmese (Myanmar) Community and Cultural Center (BMCCC) Committee in 2011 so that all interested community members can join and participate in our Community Center campaigns and activities.

            The second fundraiser was held at the Serramonte Del Rey in Daly City on July 9, 2011. And the third and the fourth fundraisers were held at the Kennedy Park of Union City as the first Burmese Community Thingyan Festival of SF Bay Area on May 27, 2012 and May 26, 2013 respectively. The upcoming fifth fundraiser is also at the Kennedy Park, Union City on May 25, 2014.

            So far, we have raised approximately $35,000 for the Community Center establishment and the upcoming plans are on the way to make our Community Center dreams happen together in the very near future!
